Description
This artwork presents a striking visual centered around two symmetrical, wing-like forms that dominate the composition. Painted in a deep, rich green, the wings evoke a sense of mystery and depth. At their core lies an intricate, circular design reminiscent of Celtic knotwork, rendered in a vibrant, earthy orange hue. This centerpiece acts as a focal point, drawing the viewer's eye to its complex interwoven patterns symbolizing continuity and eternity. The dark, feathered edges of the wings contrast with the backdrop, a muted canvas of grey and lavender tones, which provides a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere. The artwork's unique blend of mythological motifs and modern abstraction creates a compelling interplay between the ancient and the contemporary, inviting viewers to explore themes of transformation and duality. The juxtaposition of color, texture, and form in this piece makes it captivating and thought-provoking.
Presentation
Micheal Mogavero
For many years the paintings have utilized influences from diverse stylistic formats such as Classical ornamentation, gestural abstraction, geometric minimalism, as well as figurative representation. The paintings, sculptures, and architecture of Italy, France and Western Europe have provided inspiration for many of these works through the years. Theatrical lighting, and the poetically dramatic narratives in so much of Renaissance Art have been highly inspirational and influential for many decades in the work contained on this site.
I engage to present a symphony of form, light, gesture, and color, woven together to form a psychologically complex space in the paintings, rich with poetic substance. While interpretations of the paintings are as varied as the layering of the materials used to make them, I hope they can be seen as substantive and powerful orchestration's, often navagating a mystical and mysterious form of musical improvisations.
