Description
This captivating artwork presents a vibrant fusion of colors and organic forms, evoking a natural abundance. Bright yellow leaves emerge in the foreground, contrasting beautifully with the rich, dark background. A large white leaf, adorned with blue geometric accents, draws the eye to the center of the composition, creating an intriguing focal point. Around it, multiple plant elements intertwine, forming a harmonious dance of textures. The bold use of luminous hues enriches the depth and adds an almost dreamlike dimension. Every detail seems carefully crafted to guide the viewer through a visual symphony, making this work both dynamic and meditative. The artist succeeds in capturing the essence of nature while infusing it with a semi-abstract creativity that invites reflection and wonder.
Presentation
My artistic approach has not been linear: there have been several stages.
I graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Geneva in 1971, then spent a year at the Ecole de l'Image in Epinal, followed by a Lissignol prize in Geneva, which enabled me to go to Paris to take a course in plastic arts at Paris VIII Vincennes.
I've always painted alongside my part-time teaching. Since 2008, I've devoted myself exclusively to painting.
What has constantly guided me in my work as a whole is learning to observe, reinterpret, internalise, transpose and improvise from experience, if possible to the point of metaphor in my paintings.
The small drawings, in permanent felt-tip pen, I let myself be guided by a playful aspect, unlike my paintings. I call them 'little data banks'.
In this 'small Data Banks', I have chosen to present to you
The Seven Deadly Sins (see heady), small, playful drawings in A 4 permanent biros and coloured pencil. There is no particularly religious intention.
