Description
This surrealist work captures the imagination with its dreamlike landscape and ethereal atmosphere. A scene of mermaids reclining on a sandbank in contemplative poses. Their forms are both familiar and mysterious, evoking a dream world. At their feet, a snail-man rests. A winged creature hovers, carrying a mermaid in its beak, which it will deposit on the sand. On the horizon, mermaids rest in their nests. Shades of green and blue dominate, creating a serene ambiance while simultaneously conveying a sense of the uncanny. The calm, reflective water amplifies the impression of introspective tranquility. The marriage of natural and fantastical forms testifies to a boundless imagination, prompting the viewer to question the boundary between reality and dream. This painting transcends the ordinary to explore the depths of the unconscious.
