Description
This artwork captures the ethereal beauty of floral forms using a minimalist watercolor technique. The composition features three elongated flower stems, each crowned with soft, translucent blooms. The artist employs a delicate palette of greens and purples, blending them seamlessly to evoke a sense of gentle movement and growth. The flowers, bereft of sharp outlines, bleed into the background, enhancing their ephemeral quality. The piece is distinguished by its fluidity, capturing the transient essence of nature. The use of negative space is intentional, allowing the viewer's eye to focus on the subtle interplay of light and color, giving the painting an airy, dreamlike presence. This work stands out for its simplicity and elegance, offering a meditative glimpse into the fragile beauty of botanical life.
Presentation
Kenna Mackay is a contemporary Scottish glass artist and painter whose practice bridges traditional stained-glass craftsmanship and contemporary fine art. A graduate of the Edinburgh College of Art, she creates luminous works in stained, painted, and fused glass alongside expressive paintings in watercolor, ink, and acrylic. Drawing inspiration from botanical forms and the natural world, Mackay's work explores light, color, and organic structure through layered compositions that move fluidly between sculpture, glass, and painting.
