Bushfires in Australia are a natural occurrence that has significantly shaped the continent, causing widespread property damage and loss of both human and animal life. However, the bushfires of 2019/20 were exceptionally devastating, leaving a lasting impact on all those directly affected and witnesses.

'Fire Approaching' emerged as an artistic interpretation amidst the harrowing events of that 'black summer.' The presence of smoke and falling ashes during the creation of this painting inevitably bestowed upon it a profound significance, inspiring its title.
The colours and shapes come together in an abstract representation that portrays the relentless nature of the fires, driven by strong winds that threatened to consume the remaining untouched vegetation. The composition captures the intensity, chaos, and unpredictability of these natural disasters.

There's a dualistic and paradoxical relationship in fires as both devastating and transformative forces.
