Description
This work unfolds a scene of pétanque bathed in warmth, where the ochre terrain becomes the stage for a shared moment. In the foreground, the steel balls, scattered as if after a decisive shot, capture the light and create a vibrant contrast with the sandy texture of the ground. In the background, only the legs of three players appear: a discreet, almost silent presence that anchors the scene in the human element without diverting attention from the game itself.
The close-up perspective, centered on the balls, creates a sense of anticipation and gentle tension, as if we were standing right at the edge of the court, ready to hear the metallic clang of the next throw. The warm hues, bluish shadows, and fine textures reveal a careful observation of reality, giving this familiar scene an almost timeless quality.
The artwork is created using acrylic paint on canvas that has been previously coated with a thick layer of gesso. It is mounted on a stretcher frame and framed in a raw wood American-style box frame.
It is signed on the front with short initials and on the back with a full signature.
