Description
A delicate tension defines this portrait. The artist uses embroidery, framed between two glass sheets, to explore the human visage. Thin black threads trace the contours of a face with surgical precision. Each line acts as a boundary and a bridge. The yarn creates a tactile topography across the white void.
The subject gazes forward with a quiet intensity. A heavy fringe of thread frames the eyes, mimicking the flow of hair. These rhythmic strokes add a sense of movement and fragility. The lips are defined by dense, intersecting lines that suggest a suppressed emotion.

Presentation
Susanne Kramer, born in 1967 in Hanover, Germany, lives and works in East Westphalia-Lippe. She studied Textile Design at the University of Applied Sciences for Art and Design in Hanover from 1992 to 1996, and continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague in 1996.
Since 1997, she has worked as a designer and graphic artist in the fashion industry. In 2005, she began working as a freelance artist and designer. Since 2019, she has been passionately dedicated to working with yarn, which has become a central element of her artistic practice.
