Description
Original work by ICKO on Round Steel. Painted with acrylic and alkyd, varnished and hand-signed by the artist.
A striking play of contrasts is established between deep black and intense red. Curved and hypnotic lines structure the space, creating an effect of perpetual movement.
The visual balance rests on the opposition between the wavy bands and the grid of dots. The circularity of the support accentuates this sensation of controlled vertigo. Every stroke is sharp, every color block is mastered.
The composition plays on depth through the intertwining of shapes. The eye circulates without interruption along the curves.
Presentation
Born in Franche-Comté, it was in Alsace that ICKO entered, at the age of 17, the School of Fine Arts. She works in advertising without ever stopping painting. At the beginning of the 2010s she dedicated herself completely to her art.
ICKO, prophetic name of a painter who observes Woman beyond her features. In contrast to a scanner asked to detect problems, ICKO reveals the beauty of woman through curves exaggerated by an optical effect. In each of her works resides innocence, wisdom, benevolence, fragility and everything that brings Woman closer to the Divine.
