Description
This energetic painting pulses with raw emotion. Bold strokes define a chaotic scene. A deep blue background creates a stark contrast for the vivid white and red elements. The composition is dominated by a stylized figure. Its jagged white hair and sharp teeth evoke a sense of urgency. Expressive, wide eyes stare back at the viewer with an intense gaze.
The artist employs a process-oriented approach. He blends acrylic and aerosol paints to achieve a street-art aesthetic. Rhythmic lines overlap in a frenetic dance of movement. In the lower center, a bright red heart is marked by a heavy black cross. This symbolic gesture suggests a tension between love and rejection. Large, fragmented lettering looms in the background. The text is partially obscured, adding to the atmospheric mystery of the piece. Every drip and smear reveals an insatiable creative drive. The artwork captures a moment of psychological exploration. It balances aggressive forms with a poignant emotional core. The final result is a powerful study of distortion and human feeling, anchored by a striking color palette.
Presentation
My name is Michael R. Grine and I am an process oriented artist. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas.
Statement
Curiosity. Emotion. Experimentation. Exploration. Leap of faith. Pursuit of knowledge. These words only begin to describe what my art signifies or represents. I was born an artist and have always identified myself as an artist. I possess an insatiable creative drive to make art out of the images I see in my mind. To help satisfy this impulse, I am always exploring new places and trying new things. Having freedom of expression and not being limited to one style or technique of making art are paramount to my identity as an artist. I love the many different processes of making art and experimenting with new ways of creating art.
My inspiration stems from color, music, literature, and the excitement about the unknown possibilities of taking everyday objects and using them in a way that differs from what the manufacturer intended. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas. Some of my methods include combining different chemicals and paint on paper or in plastic or wood box frames to distort vivid colors that are mixed or thrown right on the canvas. The result is the distortion of lines and contours, and layers of translucent or opaque paints on the canvas or in random patterns.
