The Beholders: What is Man, 2026

Martha Adanma

A vibrant exploration of life and ancestry. A glowing orange sphere dominates the composition. Inside, a fetal silhouette rests in a timeless curl. This luminous circle evokes a sun or a cosmic womb. Intricate white patterns ring the edge. Delicate beads hang below like sacred ornaments. To the right, two dark profiles emerge from the deep blue void. Their silhouettes are etched with fine gold lines. These ancestral figures watch over the unborn child. The contrast between the warm center and the cool background creates a spiritual tension. It suggests a bridge between the physical and the metaphysical. The artist blends symbolic geometry with organic forms. Every line speaks of lineage and protection. The deep ultramarine hue enhances the radiance of the central figure. The artwork captures a moment of profound transition. It balances the intimacy of birth with the vastness of the universe. Fine decorative details add a rhythmic quality to the scene. The composition leads the eye from the ancestral guardians to the sparking light of new existence.
