Bernard Saint-Maxent - Peace Picasso (2026)
“Peace begins with a gesture… art gives a voice"
Acquiring “Peace Picasso" is to choose a unique, deeply contemporary, and meaningful work, a creation that does not just get looked at, but dialogues with the one who owns it.
Some works seduce with their aesthetic. Others mark minds permanently with the message they convey. “Peace Picasso" is part of these rare creations where the power of the idea meets the excellence of the execution.
In this singular composition, Bernard Saint-Maxent pays a vibrant tribute to Pablo Picasso, whose famous dove has become, over the decades, one of the universal symbols of peace. But far from limiting himself to an artistic quote, he imagines a scene full of poetry: his emblematic character seems to bring the work to life, brush in hand, as if he himself were completing this manifesto of freedom.
The sculpture escapes the support, blurs the boundaries between the painting and the object, and creates a true three-dimensional staging. The splashes of paint, the reliefs, and the materials give the whole a remarkable presence that instantly captures the eye.
More than a decorative work, Peace Picasso is an artistic statement. A reminder that art remains a universal language capable of crossing eras, cultures, and generations.
What if peace were the most beautiful work ever created?
he works in silence.
At his feet, the paint pots are open. A few drops have escaped, like the traces of a living gesture.
A face drawn in a single line gradually appears before him, accompanied by that dove which, since Picasso, has become one of the most powerful symbols of hope in the world.
The artisan does not sign his work.
He transmits it.
His brush does not just paint lines; it connects beings, ideas, and emotions.
The face, built from a simple black line, evokes the simplicity of genius. The dove seems to fly out of the frame, while the sculpture moves towards the viewer, abolishing the boundary between the work and reality.
Bernard Saint-Maxent reminds us that the greatest messages are not those that shout the loudest.
They are those that continue to resonate long after the gaze has turned away.
“Peace Picasso" is an invitation to believe that creation remains one of the most beautiful forms of resistance, and that every artistic gesture carries within it a promise of hope.
