Scarlet Woodland Walk, 2026

Abstract version depiction of a walk into the scarlet oak forest...
A canopy of red, pink and orange hues, furrowed by hurried wings and invisible spores, rises above my forehead, blinded by the striking light.
It is a simple impression that the forest leaves me, which I cross on foot, on paths full of moss and ferns, raising my eyes to the height of the sky, trying to break through the dizzyingly colorful foliage and capture the movements of the wind that unfurls and shakes the gnarled arms of the oaks.
This painting is a dense forest of hot pink, scarlet, coral, crimson, violet, and electric blue, built from layered brushstrokes and scattered specks of green, yellow, and white.
Fine white lines sweep and loop across the surface like quick hand-drawn tracings, cutting through the color bursts.
The composition stays tightly packed from edge to edge, with no quiet area, only constant movement and chromatic overlap.
