Biography
Rebecca is a Scottish artist whose work explores atmospheric landscapes shaped by shifting weather, light, and mood. Drawing inspiration from the skies, coastlines, and terrain of East Lothian and the Scottish Highlands, her paintings capture fleeting moments of light breaking through cloud formations and dramatic skies.
Her process begins with observing a place and the emotion it evokes. Reference photographs taken on location act as prompts in the studio, where she paints directly onto canvas or linen without preliminary sketches. Working in acrylic, her initial marks remain visible in the finished work, lending immediacy and confidence to her compositions.
Rebecca studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Edinburgh College and has been exhibiting and selling her work since 2004. She continues to show her paintings in galleries and exhibitions across Scotland, alongside working on private commissions.
