Description
Hand-painted — no stencil or screen print — this artwork captures the delicate balance between imagination and reality, solitude and connection.
At its heart, a boy paints a staircase onto a bare wall, each step a quiet act of courage, a declaration of will. He creates his own path upward, shaping possibility where none existed before. Beside him, another boy climbs the painted steps — perhaps real, perhaps imagined. This moment of uncertainty gives the work its soul: is the friend a companion, or a vision born from hope itself?
The black-and-white figures stand in striking contrast to the vibrant background of graffiti, color, and movement. Around them, life bursts in fragments — playful, chaotic, alive — yet their stillness anchors the scene in something deeply human.
The painting speaks of friendship, resilience, and the invisible hands that help us rise. It reminds us that creation often begins alone — but growth, belief, and transformation are rarely solitary.
More than an image, With A Little Help From My Friends is a reflection on how we ascend: through imagination, through courage, and through the quiet strength of those who believe in us.
Presentation
tizlu aka Tiziano Lucchese is an internationally known ultra-contemporary artist. He studied Art and Technology in the Netherlands and lives in Germany. His works as a multi-talented artist have been featured on television and showcased at prestigious international festivals. In addition to his work in the fine arts, tizlu worked as a director for commercials and fictional movies and editor for prime-time shows on major TV networks. His art is part of renowned fairs and private collections across the globe; from New York to Paris, from Australia to Canada.
tizlu's paintings appear as they were directly cut out of a living streetscape—where everything is possible, and nothing is mainstream. His artwork is the result of a refined blend of materials and techniques. He uses plaster, paper, and acrylic paint to create textures that evoke the appearance of weathered walls. On this foundation, he paints his unique motifs, layers drawings, messages, self-made stickers creating an art piece which becomes an urban patchwork reflecting the raw, spontaneous character of the streets and today's society.
