Le Romantique, 2026

Alain Rigollier

A vivid silhouette emerges from a muted grey backdrop. This oil painting blends rhythmic geometry with a dreamlike presence. The central figure is a study in fragmented form. Sharp angles meet soft curves. A pale face gaze softly toward the left. It is framed by an explosion of prismatic colors. Golden yellows and deep reds collide with cool azure tones.
The composition balances tension and grace. The character appears caught in a mid-stride movement. Its body is a complex puzzle of interlocking shapes. Each plane carries a distinct gradient. Light shifts across the surfaces to create a subtle three-dimensional effect. This geometric approach gives the subject a contemporary spirit. The precision of the lines contrasts with the fluid blending of the pigments. It is an artwork of striking brightness and conceptual clarity. The figure floats in an atmospheric void. Every edge is defined. Every hue is intentional. The result is a poetic interpretation of the human form through a modern lens. The piece concludes with the sharp point of a foot touching the lower edge of the canvas.
