Description

This acrylic painting captures the pure aesthetic of a car legend. The vibrant red dominates the composition. The light glides over the aerodynamic curves of the bodywork. Each reflection emphasizes the precision of the drawing.
The gaze dives into the stripped-down cabin. The wooden steering wheel and analog gauges recall the era of heroic races. The number 11 is displayed with sharpness on the side.
The contrast with the dark background accentuates the presence of the vehicle. The spoked wheel brings a touch of technical finesse. The artist favors a realistic approach. He renders the texture of the metal and the transparency of the windshield. This composition celebrates speed and Italian design. The precision of the line pays homage to precision mechanics. The visual rendering focuses on the shine of the varnish and the rigor of the lines.

Presentation

Mauricio

I was born in Cali, Colombia, in 1967. As a child, I drew race cars with wide tires, fog lights, and vibrant colors in my school notebooks. I studied graphic design because I discovered that expressing my visual creativity was a rewarding professional path. I worked as a graphic designer for more than twenty-five years in my native country, managing a wide variety of visual projects for companies from my design studio. Later, I founded my own car magazine, and then I dedicated myself to university teaching. Upon arriving in Germany, I decided to give a new direction to my creativity and dedicate myself fully to painting, an activity I have practiced successfully, participating in many exhibitions and events in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

In my car paintings, I explore colors, shapes, and reflections; my main themes are road and race cars. I perceive them as highly aesthetic objects.

I also paint everyday objects, such as toys or sweets, in photorealistic and vibrant compositions. My works offer a striking vision of the irony of contemporary obsession with consumption and the idolization of popular culture.
