Jungle Mirror, 2025

Turik&Art

After a summer storm the mountains let go of everything at once. Silver water tears down the slopes, into the river, and the river into the sea — unstoppable. You run through the forest, pushing the branches aside with your hands; they brush your face, your shoulders. Under the rain everything becomes one thing: water, green, sky. The colours merge, and the thoughts merge with them. Sometimes you need to run — not away from anything. Simply to run, to where there are no words.

Then you lie down in the grass and look up. Through the chaos of branches the sky comes apart into fragments, and this is exactly what it looks like: cobalt blue breaking through jungle green, silver through shadow. The forest holds still while the water rages. Nothing violent in it — only immovable.

The work is painted in acrylic beneath poured epoxy resin. The resin is not a finish here but the body of the piece: it deepens the pigment and closes the surface into a plane that reflects light the way water does — graphic and dense in daylight, liquid and unfathomable in the evening, never twice the same.

Exhibited at Art Capital, Grand Palais, Paris, 2026.
