Description
A moment of calm captured precisely.
This acrylic painting captures the softness of a solitary moment.
A woman has slipped under a bedspread with ornamental patterns.
Ochre yellow dominates the scene.
The fabric comes alive with stylized, almost graphic flowers.
The contrast is established with the fresh green of the clothing.
The posture is relaxed.
Attention is focused on an open book.
The gaze is absorbed by the reading.
The background remains minimalist.
A few strokes suggest a neutral wall and diffused light.
The artist favors fluid touches.
The composition emphasizes the intimacy of the home.
It is a celebration of the everyday and rest.
The acrylic technique brings a rich texture to the textiles.
The atmosphere evokes the light melancholy of an autumn day.
The close framing reinforces this feeling of a protective cocoon.
The detail of the book held at arm's length guides the eye towards the serene face.
