Description
"Cherubs" is a work that brings together, within a single image, a multiplicity of faces and souls, evoking the sense of metamorphosis and spirituality that runs through Francesca Strino's artistic research. Delicate features, overlapping and merging into one another, create a collective vision that recalls the idea of angelic purity, while also conveying the complexity of human identity.
The warm, almost halo-like light illuminates the features with sculptural intensity, while the gaze seems to extend beyond the canvas towards another dimension, suspended between reality and dream. Painting thus becomes a bridge between two-dimensionality and sculpture, through a play of reliefs and dissolving forms that makes the work feel alive, vibrant and breathing.
In this painting, Strino draws upon the tradition of classical portraiture and transforms it, offering not merely a single face, but the echo of an inner plurality—the very essence of the as symbols of innocence and spiritual vision.
Presentation
Francesca Strino was born in Naples in 1979. The daughter of an artist, she began her artistic education at the Art High School before graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, where she studied Sculpture under the guidance of Professor Gerardo Di Fiore. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards and participated in many exhibitions for both sculpture and painting. Over time, however, painting—also nurtured by the constant influence of her father, one of the leading figures of Campanian painting—has become her primary means of expression, leading her work into important galleries and private collections in Italy and abroad.
