Description
This oil painting explores organic beauty through an attentive gaze. Several red poppies rise gracefully against a textured background. The composition plays on a subtle balance between figuration and abstraction.
The background, in shades of beige and ochre, presents a worked relief. Layers of material intertwine to create an almost mineral space. This neutral setting highlights the brilliance of the red petals, treated with precision and generosity.
The thin, dark stems bring a rhythmic verticality to the whole. The deep red of the flowers captures the light, evoking a form of natural poetry. This close-up view invites contemplation of the fragility and strength of the plant.
The work, created in 2025, testifies to a research into matter and light. The contrast between the softness of the floral forms and the roughness of the support enriches the visual reading. The final rendering focuses on the colored intensity of the petals.
Presentation
A painter with a degree from the Beaux-Arts of Paris, Isabelle Jacq Gamboena is of Spanish origin. After living for several years in West Africa then in Brittany, Isabelle settled in the Paris region In her works, Isabelle likes to evoke dance, singing and flamenco music through a style where figuration and abstraction coexist in complete harmony.
The colors and textures evoke the sound vibrations of flamenco become colored material, while figurative shapes representing a dancing body, a face, a model, emerge from this abstract world. Sometimes, Isabelle likes to focus her attention on a detail: a natural or bodily element. In this close-up vision, the artist invites us to better probe reality and to perceive how a detail can be rich in meaning. Also a portrait painter, Isabelle reveals the soul of the beings she represents.
If Isabelle's favorite theme is flamenco, an art which echoes the artist's Spanish origins, her painting also refers to nature and poetry. Indeed, some works are inspired by the reading of certain poets or by places that marked his memory. This is how landscapes are born at the end of his brush, thus expressing his feelings. His works, sometimes warm, sometimes vaporous but always luminous, are an invitation to the elevation of the soul and the celebration of life.
