Description
An abstract composition revolves around a central vertical axis. An elongated shape, resembling a white cone, dominates the plane. It rests on an ochre yellow background which brings a warm light to the whole.
The rest of the canvas unfolds in neutral and muted tones. Blocks of mauve and gray intersect softly. A sinuous yellow line crosses the lower part, creating a fluid and light movement.
The material is treated with sobriety. The artist favors flat surfaces and sharp contours. The contrast between the white verticality and the colored backgrounds structures the space.
The eye is drawn to a small dark graphic detail located at the top of the oval shape. This focal point balances the composition. The whole exudes a contemplative serenity.
This painting plays on the superposition of simplified geometric shapes. The final rendering relies on the harmony of colors and the precision of the line. The palette relies on powdered and earthy shades.
Presentation
SmaK-titi is a French self-taught street artist. He discovered street art in USA during the 90's in New York and Chicago. This is when his initial work was exhibited on Broadway avenue. He then moved to France.
Smak-titi's universe revolves around pop art and raw art. It's filled with imaginary and colored characters, with unique personalities. Bright fluorescent colors put dynamism and depth in the limelight.
Smak-titi has moved back to France and regularly exhibits there but also in European galleries.
