Description
This vibrant watercolor from the October Pink series features a timeless female silhouette, emerging from a textured background in shades of blue, pink, and ochre. The face, intentionally featureless except for delicately colored lips, universalizes emotion and invites introspection. The hands clasped against the chest evoke both a posture of contemplation, protection, and immense dignity in the face of adversity. On the bust, a stylized crack—almost like a golden scar or a colored bandage—modestly materializes the physical and psychological fracture. It is a hymn to resilience where the softness of the pigments diluted with water contrasts with the power of the posture, celebrating the invisible courage of women.
Presentation
An English teacher by profession, Paris-based Isabelle Hirtzig began her career as an artist through the medium of watercolor. Through her light touch of the paintbrush, she is able to capture much emotive feeling. Her work depicts scenes based on subjects as diverse as flowers, Parisian scenes, landscapes, animals and portraiture. Her focus remains on the psyche and art—its sensuality and softness are perfectly accentuated through the watercolor medium.
