Entre les lignes (1), 2026

Virginie Clement

Fitting into the tradition of contemporary genre scenes, this work captures a suspended moment of intimacy and cocooning.

The cover and the pillows in soft tones create a comforting cocoon that harmoniously contrasts with the wall background structured by wide vertical grey stripes. The work on the bed folds, the textured rendering of the knitwear, and the warm color palette bring a beautiful relief and a soothing depth to the scene.
The high white knit socks bring an immediate sensation of comfort and relaxation.

By merging Eve and Adam into a single name, the artist has chosen to evoke the original unity and the male/female duality. The title of the work "BETWEEN THE LINES" suggests that understanding the other requires an effort of interpretation that sometimes goes beyond verbal language.

The vertical stripes of the wallpaper background are a nod to the book's title, the male/female relationships in the background, "read between the lines" to better understand and love each other.

An ideal piece for a collection of modern figurative art, bringing a serene, elegant, and resolutely contemporary atmosphere.
