The Pearl Necklace, (Ballet series), 2012

Rakhmet Redzhepov (Ramzi)

The Pearl Necklace, (Ballet series) oil, acrylic, canvas, 40\40cm.

A quiet moment of preparation unfolds in this evocative composition. The artwork captures a dancer in a state of repose, her body stretching across a dark, grounded void. There is a profound sense of tension and release in the arched spine and the delicate placement of the arm. A single strand of pearls adds a touch of elegance, contrasting with the raw vulnerability of the skin.
The palette remains muted and earthy, blending shades of ochre, sepia, and soft cream. This tonal harmony creates a timeless atmosphere, reminiscent of classical studies. Rakhmet Redzhepov utilizes a rich mix of oil and acrylic to build a tactile surface. The background is not a mere void but a textured landscape of vertical streaks and weathered layers. These elements suggest a backstage environment, where the air is thick with anticipation and dust. Light falls softly across the figure, highlighting the anatomical precision and the grace of the feminine form. The composition balances the heaviness of the lower plane with an ethereal, airy upper space. It is a study of discipline and serenity, focusing on the internal silence before the performance begins. The brushwork remains fluid yet deliberate, guiding the eye along the curvature of the silhouette.
