Description
This mesmerizing artwork, an untitled abstract painting, captivates with its intricate web of lines and complex layers of blue tones. Dominating the canvas is a symphony of cobalt, cerulean, and azure, interwoven to create a sense of depth and motion. The artist employs a meticulous grid-like pattern formed by delicate white lines that seem to both constrain and liberate the vibrant blues, creating an enthralling visual tension. At the center, a burst of slightly lighter hues appears to radiate outward, suggesting an underlying sense of energy or explosion. This focal point draws the eye in and invites deeper contemplation of the interplay between structure and spontaneity. The texture, achieved through masterful brushstrokes and perhaps the use of mixed media, adds a tangible quality to the visual experience, making the viewer almost feel the frayed edges of the intersecting lines. The unique aspect of this work lies in its ability to balance chaos with order, evoking the natural patterns found in cracked ice or intricate aerial maps of frozen rivers. The contrast between the cool, calming blues and the stark, almost metallic lines ensures that the piece remains dynamic and engaging. In conclusion, this abstract masterpiece commands attention through its intelligent use of color, texture, and composition, making it a powerful addition to any collection. Its balance of meticulous detail and freeform expression ensures that it offers something new upon each viewing.
Presentation
My name is Michael R. Grine and I am an process oriented artist. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas.
Statement
Curiosity. Emotion. Experimentation. Exploration. Leap of faith. Pursuit of knowledge. These words only begin to describe what my art signifies or represents. I was born an artist and have always identified myself as an artist. I possess an insatiable creative drive to make art out of the images I see in my mind. To help satisfy this impulse, I am always exploring new places and trying new things. Having freedom of expression and not being limited to one style or technique of making art are paramount to my identity as an artist. I love the many different processes of making art and experimenting with new ways of creating art.
My inspiration stems from color, music, literature, and the excitement about the unknown possibilities of taking everyday objects and using them in a way that differs from what the manufacturer intended. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas. Some of my methods include combining different chemicals and paint on paper or in plastic or wood box frames to distort vivid colors that are mixed or thrown right on the canvas. The result is the distortion of lines and contours, and layers of translucent or opaque paints on the canvas or in random patterns.
