Description
This artwork, titled "The Passage of Time" by Manfred Kielnhofer, presents an intriguing visual of two illuminated clock faces set against a stark black background. Positioned at an angle suggestive of butterfly wings, the clocks create a sense of delicate symmetry and motion. The luminous dials starkly contrast with the darkness, highlighting the passage of time with clarity and precision. This piece uniquely combines elements of sculpture and installation art, utilizing light and shadow to evoke contemplation about time's relentless flow. The minimalist design emphasizes the ephemeral nature of time, inviting viewers to ponder their own temporal existence. The strategic lighting not only enhances the artwork's ethereal quality but also draws attention to its profound metaphorical implications, making it a compelling and thought-provoking visual experience.
*all prints in this size are limited to 21 copies. Each one is signed, numbered and dated, printed on Hahnemühle FineArt paper, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Presentation
Valentin Zaharia was born in 1980 in Constanța, Romania, by the Black Sea.
His connection to photography began in childhood, when he wished for a Smena 8 camera. At 20, shortly after finishing high school, he started working as a photographer on cruise ships. Later, he worked as a photojournalist and freelancer in his hometown. In 2011 he completed the “Art of Photography" program at the Teodor T. Burada School of Arts in Constanța. Soon after, he moved to Oslo to explore new opportunities in the field.
In 2018 he returned to Romania, where he works as a studio lighting specialist.
“The fine art photographs I create come from my travels, everyday walks, and personal projects. I usually sell large prints in limited editions, printed on high-quality paper, preferably Hahnemühle. The guiding idea behind my work is 'See beyond.' With each print, I offer a small part of myself, hoping it brings a sense of calm to those who connect with it."
