Description
This evocative artwork captures a mysterious silhouette against a glowing backdrop. The central figure, cloaked in shadow, stands out against a soft, ethereal light that diffuses through the composition, creating a dreamlike ambiance. Flashes of light in the foreground, reminiscent of lens flares, add a dynamic element, suggesting movement and capturing the viewer’s attention. The hazy quality of the image blurs the line between reality and imagination, inviting introspection. The interplay of light and shadow highlights the transience of the moment, evoking themes of solitude and contemplation. This piece uniquely combines simplicity and depth, making it a compelling exploration of contrast and perception. The ambiguous identity of the figure invites personal interpretation, enhancing the visual narrative’s universal appeal.
*all prints in this size are limited to 31 copies. Each one is signed, numbered and dated, printed on Hahnemühle FineArt paper, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Presentation
Valentin Zaharia was born in 1980 in Constanța, Romania, by the Black Sea.
His connection to photography began in childhood, when he wished for a Smena 8 camera. At 20, shortly after finishing high school, he started working as a photographer on cruise ships. Later, he worked as a photojournalist and freelancer in his hometown. In 2011 he completed the “Art of Photography" program at the Teodor T. Burada School of Arts in Constanța. Soon after, he moved to Oslo to explore new opportunities in the field.
In 2018 he returned to Romania, where he works as a studio lighting specialist.
“The fine art photographs I create come from my travels, everyday walks, and personal projects. I usually sell large prints in limited editions, printed on high-quality paper, preferably Hahnemühle. The guiding idea behind my work is 'See beyond.' With each print, I offer a small part of myself, hoping it brings a sense of calm to those who connect with it."
