Description
This artwork represents a contemporary and abstract interpretation of a coastal landscape. With his bold use of horizontal lines and motion blur effect, the artist succeeds in capturing the feeling of dynamic movement. Presentation
Ifig was born in 1966. He learned photography as a dilettante at the age of 15 from his father, a passionate amateur. His first photographic and sentimental emotions intertwine. His photos of Breton beaches were perhaps at that time his way of sublimating his disappointed love hopes. But, too late! The passion for photography is there. She will however be interrupted by her medical studies, but during all these years the virus is expressed from time to time, always present, sometimes quiescent. Today Ifig returns to his first love, these Breton and Norman beaches, with a photographic sense enriched by thirty years of influences, finding their roots in painting, photography or cinema. We can cite artists as diverse as Jean Loup Sieff, Helmut Newton, David Horvat, Roy Lichtenstein, Paul Gauguin, David Lynch, Roy Stuart, Aaricia Varandas, David Hockney or the magnificent abstraction of Yves-Marie Péron. In short, the expression of a quest for beauty as a link between his abstract beaches, his nudes and his dark-eyed portraits ... Ifig published his first photographs in 1988 and has been collected since 1990. He has exhibited for the first time at Molitor in 2017.
