#0072-FTL_DEPARTURES DROPPING OFF JOYCE_04-02-2013_11-46-06AM belongs to the series Traces of Perception, in which hester explores the way that movement, light, and time transform our perception of reality.
Traversed by a succession of horizontal lines and vibrations in tones of blue, violet, and white, the work seems to capture a landscape in full dissolution. The forms become traces, the volumes fade, and the image oscillates between the presence of a real space and an almost entirely abstract composition.
Through this photographic work, hester does not seek to freeze a moment but to reproduce a visual experience of movement. Movement thus becomes a real tool for constructing the image, stretching forms and bringing a new graphic reality to the surface.
At the border between photography and abstraction, Traces of Perception questions our way of perceiving an environment when it is subjected to the speed, time, and movement of the gaze.

Presentation
Known for combining artistic vision with technical precision, Hester transforms urban structures into doors of reflection. With a background in electrical engineering, architecture, and art history, her photographs go beyond superficial aesthetics and invite viewers to question our perception and occupation of space.
From Concrete Perspective (2012) to Architecture Éphémérè (2024), Hester's work consistently redefines the dialogue between art, science, and emotion. Exhibited internationally, from Art Wynwood and Pinta Miami to the Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles, including recent exhibitions in Sweden and France, her practice presents itself as a bold exploration of perception and memory.
