A line to be crossed… a man leads with strength and tenderness on the tango floor in Buenos Aires.
This striking black and white photograph captures an intimate moment of connection, focusing on the intertwined arms of a couple. The image exudes a sense of tenderness and unity, emphasizing the emotional bond between the tango dancers. The sharp contrast highlights the textures of the skin, drawing attention to the delicate curl of hair cascading down the woman's back, subtly emphasizing her femininity. The man's hand is placed protectively around her shoulder, conveying a sense of warmth and security. The composition's simplicity accentuates its emotional depth, inviting the viewer to ponder the story behind this embrace. The choice of monochrome adds a timeless quality, enhancing the emotive power of the piece. This photograph stands out through its ability to convey profound emotion through minimalistic elements, making it a compelling study of the human connection inherent in tango dancing.
James Sparshatt's photographs of music and dance capture the emotion and intensity of people lost in the rhythm of the moment.
Palladium platinum prints are the choice for serious collectors of black and white photography. Platinum prints are the ultimate expression of bespoke craft printing. In the hands of a master printer they can provide a unique register of tones and effects bringing unexpected nuances from a negative. Prints created in this way have an ethereal quality with incredible detail, enhanced by the way the chemicals soak into the fibres of the paper. They are also light fast and therefore not subject to any form of fading over time. James Sparshatt's platinum prints are produced by 31 Studio, Europe's leading exponents of this art.
The work is also available as a baryta silver gelatin print or as a large scale archival print.
