Description
This mixed media artwork is a lambda c-print on fine art paper between dibond [bottom] and acrylic glass [top] . Ready to hang, combining painting techniques and photoart to create a photo-impressionist style.
A haunting intersection of nature and artifice. This 2024 artwork merges photography with physical materials. A clear plexiglass container traps a moment of stillness. Inside, the remains of birds create a visceral contrast. Soft feathers meet rigid edges. The composition evokes a scientific specimen yet feels deeply mystical.
The artist explores the raw side of existence. He transforms chaos into a curated scene. A C-print and acrylic collage add depth to the arrangement. The image rests upon an open book, suggesting a search for knowledge or a lost archive.
Geometric precision frames the organic decay. This tension creates a feeling of suspended time. The gaze is drawn to the intricate patterns of the plumage. Each detail speaks to the fragile boundary between life and death. The transparent enclosure acts as a barrier and a lens. It invites a meditative reflection on the unknown. The palette remains muted and natural. The final effect is a surreal study of biological fragments preserved in a synthetic void.
Presentation
Geert Lemmers, free and liberal artist, Fine Photo Art, Painting and New Media.
Geert Lemmers was born in the mysterious Land van Maas en Waal in the Netherlands. His grandmother's stories about witches and secret societies have formed him as an artist.
He studied photography and photographic arts and worked as a freelancer for years making reportages and portraits for magazines and fashion photographs. After the digital revolution he could realize his dream by making art, the way he saw it. In 2008 Geert Lemmers won the professional art-price in his region and that was the start of a successful artistic career.
After years of collaboration with well-known painters, his possibilities only grew.
Geert Lemmers is interested in our world and in its cultural and sexual diversity. He works mostly project-based and his work is about "the world of people" as a sort of general research.
"The world of people is about men and women behind often beautiful looking facades in the middle of the chaotic universe we live in. I research the raw site of our lives represented as fairytales in a wonderland as a enlargement of our life. Enlarged characters in chaos, beauty and imperfection. In every new project I vary on this basic-entity."
Geert's works, however, are characterized [now that he is getting older] by an increasing need for abstract and highly simplified design, allowing more room for emotion and the mystical.
Geert's works are honored many times and his works were to be seen in several international art - magazines.
