Description

This photograph captures a suspended moment between land and water. The gaze plunges into dense, dark vegetation. Intertwined roots emerge from the ground, bathed in a warm, raking light. This chromatic contrast emphasizes the organic fragility of the landscape.
The image plays on the tension between the deep shadow of the foliage and the golden gleam of the roots. The composition evokes a cinematic scene, where reality shifts into the imaginary. The subtle reflection on the water's surface adds further depth to the scene.
The work relies on a rigorous research of the frame and the light. The artist transforms a natural landscape into a visual icon. Every detail reinforces the impression of mystery and serenity.
The work is created via a high-precision inkjet print. This process guarantees absolute fidelity of the nuances and textures. The composition is set within an exploration of the urban and surrounding landscape. The final rendering highlights the richness of ochre and green tones.

Presentation

Author photographer, freelance reporter and journalist, Jean-françois Mollière from Le Mans has collaborated on numerous books and magazines in the field of art, sport and architecture. Artistic director, he also designs photographic arrangements of public and private places. These commissioned works necessarily bear the imprint of his photographic research.

A search that takes the form of itineraries, a quest for protean images. Quest for an abyss, that of fiction in reality, of the reflection on the surface, of the image in the frame. Quest for the field of possibilities in this need in tension which precedes the photographic act. Quest for the other, in whom we recognize ourselves. Long sought after image, sifted through the sieve of anecdotal seduction, proven image. In 30 years of photographic research, Jean-François Mollière has never stopped breaking habits, going where the imagination becomes stronger. To break through the inevitability of finitude, to resist, inexorably. We recognize in his photography, images, icons very inspired by cinema and painting.
