This original oil painting inspired by Rothko, explores the profound interplay between color, texture, and emotion. Deeply rooted in the tradition of Abstract Expressionism, the work invites the viewer into an immersive visual experience.
The composition is dominated by a vast and vibrant field of red, applied with rich textures and visible brushstrokes (impasto) that lend it a tactile and three-dimensional quality. This intense visual "fire" radiates energy and passion, … yet is masterfully balanced at its base by a block of deep, serene blue. The two chromatic fields are separated by a subtle dark border that acts as a horizon, anchoring the work and providing visual respite. It is a visually striking piece, ideal for adding warmth, character and a dramatic focal point to contemporary spaces, living rooms or modern offices. The artwork is delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
Presentation
Ezequiel Martínez Llaser is an artist with an extensive international career. His works are included in various private collections across Europe. Born in Argentina in 1981, he lives and works between Paris and Barcelona.
He studied art and philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires and Paris VIII, and has completed several workshops and artist residencies with prominent figures in today's contemporary art scene. Coming from a family of photographers, he grew increasingly drawn to the visual arts as a medium to express his philosophical inquiries.
His work—primarily large-scale surrealist oil paintings—is a deconstruction of reality and the dominant values of modern society. His latest series, “Fragmentation et Totalité," questions Western rationalism through vitalist philosophical concepts (Nietzsche and Bergson), drawing influence from painters such as Dalí and Goya.
He has held major exhibitions in Buenos Aires, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, and Paris. In 2019, he participated in the Florence Biennale. Since 2022, his work has been on display at the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, and in recent years, his pieces have been selected for exhibitions throughout Europe.
