Description
After studying communications, he began his professional career in advertising at the age of 22. Alongside this very demanding job, he has two passions, travel and comics. A self-taught French artist, after a slow maturation process, he defined a mode of expression through digital art which allowed him to reconcile his two centers of interest.
His works of contemporary art are built around a simple concept: in every landscape, urban or otherwise, there are stories hidden and these just ask to hook and intrigue the viewer. His style as a French artist is inspired by the clear line. But it has its own energy: its work of contemporary art sets a scene, a bubble which escapes from a window or a car and the spectator holds the first thread of a story which he then imagines alone. He created his first paintings in 2005 using a set of digital art techniques. Today, urban worlds from Paris to San Francisco, from New York to Miami, from London to Venice or Rome, make up a colorful and original collection which is fully expressed in very spectacular large formats. The "Single Frames" represent his signature as a French artist, or stories in a single image...
Presentation
Having a degree in communications, he turned to the world of advertising. Philippe has always been passionate about cinema and traveling. He gradually became a graphic designer, which allowed him to combine his two passions in his creations.
Philippe Matine's works combine the world of comics and the world of traveling or of urban landscapes. The artist starts from a simple principle, behind each facade in every street of a city, people are living a story, he incites the observer to discover it.
The talent of the artist was noticed very early in his career so he decided to start his artistic creation, each one of his pieces is a window to a city of a world in which life is at its best.
