Description
This artwork by Adolf Richard Fleischmann is distinguished by its bold use of shape and color. Against a cream-textured background, undulating abstract shapes in ochre provide organic depth, while imposing black rectangles create a striking contrast. Serpentine, intertwining lines connect these rectangular shapes, evoking a complex network or electrical circuit. Each element appears to dance harmoniously, balancing geometric rigidity with the fluid flow of lines. The randomly distributed dots add a dynamic dimension to the whole, similar to visual sparks against a serene backdrop. The work captures attention with its marriage of structure and chaos, stimulating reflection on the interconnectedness and dialogue between order and disorder. An intriguing piece that invites us to observe the subtle interactions between elements.
Presentation
Albert Merz's work subtly combines abstract and figurative images, contemporary and inspired by archaism. He associates geometric shapes to more natural ones in a harmonious composition, playing with light and obscurity, colors and transparence.
In 1997 he worked for the cultural foundation Zuger Landis Gyr. His work was shown in several personal and collective exhibits in France and Switzerland.
