Description
In this explosive artwork, Bruno Boffa pays tribute to rock icon Mick Jagger through a composition that blends pop art and street art. The black-and-white portrait of the Rolling Stones legend sits at the heart of a vibrant graphic universe, where graffiti, paint splashes, bold typography, and references to popular culture collide. The inscriptions “Paris," “Berlin," “London," “Tokyo," and “Rock Me" evoke the universal and timeless energy of rock'n'roll.
Created on an aluminum panel, the piece combines photo montage and high-definition printing, enhanced with the meticulous application of gold leaf, which brings depth and brilliance to the composition. A high-quality automotive varnish is then applied, providing exceptional gloss and long-lasting protection while enhancing the artwork's vivid colors and striking contrasts.
Boffa captures here the rebellious and magnetic essence of rock through a raw, free, and intensely expressive aesthetic.
Presentation
Born in Ixelles in June 1968, he has been passionate about cars and the visual arts since childhood.
His artistic studies at Saint-Luc in Brussels first led him for 25 years as a graphic designer in an advertising agency. In 2016, he decided to devote himself entirely to his passions.
Inspired by Pop and Street Art, it was then that he produced his first compositions and created Legend & Gentlemen Drivers as part of a collaboration with Jean-Pol Piron.
Photographic overlays each composed of a mix of at least twenty images on themes including mainly motor sport legends but also those of cinema and television series that rocked our childhood ... all embellished with draping, posters, graffiti, logos,… with its own refinement.
A finish composed of a lacquer of 2 layers of resin allows to give this depth and this particular luminosity to the work. Each basic creation is then produced in a limited series, signed and numbered, up to a maximum of 7 copies. A black and white series is printed on Plexiglas.
