Description
This work confronts three human mythologies: religion, technology, and culture. Adam and God, the cyborg and the machine-bird, the imperial laurel and the primitive totem coexist in the same marketplace.
The central figure bears the marks of all these promises. Augmented, sacred, heroized, it nevertheless remains unchanged. The smile is that of an empty certainty.
The background subverts foundational narratives. Divine creation, transcendence, and technological progress become exchangeable images, printed on the same symbolic currency.
The monkey here reveals a constant: regardless of the era, humanity clothes its ignorance in new narratives. God, the Empire, or the machine change their faces, but continue to fulfill the same function: to give a reassuring form to that which eludes it.
