Description
This elegant diptych reinterprets two of the greatest figures in comic books, Superman and Spider-Man, through the Japanese artistic philosophy of , paying homage to the strength that emerges from imperfection. In the left panel, Superman presents himself with a porcelain-like complexion and a deep blue costume decorated with delicate cherry blossom motifs, crossed by refined veins of shining gold that fill every crack; on the right, Spider-Man stands out in his classic red and blue costume with a lacquered texture, where a dense network of golden lines intertwines with the weave of his costume under a warm light on an oriental background of cherry blossoms in bloom. The work is distinguished by a very high-level ceramic finish, dramatic lighting that accentuates the three-dimensionality of the characters and a masterful fusion between superhero pop art and traditional Asian aesthetics.
