Description
There are associations that seem so natural that one almost begins to believe they have always existed.
The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 and Gulf belong to this category. Two myths of automotive culture, two immediately recognizable visual signatures, two stories fueled by competition, performance, and a certain idea of mechanical freedom.
And yet, this precise meeting never officially existed.
With The Gulf That Never Was, SKE imagines the missing chapter: a 911 Carrera RS 2.7 that could have worn the sky blue and orange colors of Gulf. Not as a historical reconstruction, but as a parallel archive, plausible at first glance and deliberately fictional once one dwells on it.
The technical drawing, the car views, the mechanical annotations, and the composition inspired by engineering documents reinforce this feeling of a "found document".
The Gulf blue dialogues with the orange while the mythical silhouette of the RS 2.7 remains at the center of the work.
This is precisely where SKE's work lies: taking two references deeply rooted in the collective automotive memory and creating the collaboration that history never wrote.
Edited in only 30 copies, the work is made in A2 format - 59.4 x 42 cm, on
Hahnemühle art paper, museum quality. Each copy is numbered and hand-signed and accompanied by its certificate of authenticity.
A piece conceived for Porsche enthusiasts, racing culture lovers, and collectors who also like stories that could have existed.
- FRAMING TIPS
Your work is shipped rolled and protected in a tube.
Upon receipt, carefully remove it and lay it flat for 48 to 72 hours, so that it naturally returns to its shape before framing.
ISO formats (A3, A2, A1…) are very easy to frame with standard frames available in DIY or decoration stores.
Presentation
SKE is a self-taught, all-around French artist who was immersed in the culture of the 80s/90s, inspiring a large majority of his artistic works.
He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting , collage , stenciling , graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with a double meaning, combine the raw energy of street art and the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional 2025, SKE's popularity has risen remarkably. Winner of the first prize in the Urban Master competition (2023), then elected Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, solidifying his place on the contemporary art scene. Simultaneously, SKE is also making his mark in the digital art market, a major trend of the last two years, further enhancing the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and plays on textures characterize a style that is now essential.
SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with a rising value.
