Description
The fragile balance between order and chaos guides this graphic composition. A massive black triangle anchors the scene. Its rigorous geometry contrasts with the raw energy of the intertwined lines. These lines accumulate into a dense mass. They evoke a rapid, almost nervous movement.
The white background welcomes random ink projections. These spots punctuate the space with precision. In the bottom left, a fragment of yellowed paper brings a temporal dimension. This textured rectangle seems to be a vestige, an old document integrated into the modernity of the line.
Created in 2010, this print uses the aquatint technique. This process allows for the creation of colored surfaces and nuanced gradients. The interplay between full and empty creates a constant visual tension. The eye circulates thus from the dark block to the lightness of the splashes. The whole rests on a dialogue between the architectural form and the spontaneous gesture.
Presentation
Angelo LUCCIA was born in Florence in August 1952 by the Arno, not far from the current opera house, his career remains a mystery. In his spare work, one can find a marked taste for that Florentine severity, the one that strikes when passing in front of the Uffizi and almost catching the gaze of Lorenzo il magnifico by chance. He speaks little of his work and if he does, he asks you to listen to the lamentations of the prophet Jeremiah: "Jerusalem convertere ad dominum Deum tuum", the vertigo of the harmonics of the assassin prince Gesualdo, the amorous letter of the seventh book of Claudio Monteverdi's madrigals, or even the quartets of Arnold Schoenberg or Bela Bartok. He says rigor, he says nonchalance, Tuscan light.
Relativity, speed of light, "reviens soulamite", "nigra sunt sed formosa", gamma bursts, magnitudes, collapses, black holes, globular clusters, Hubbel's constant, serenade for wind instruments K 361.
Losses, writings, the collages are a very complex succession of impressions, then tears; an image is often split in two and then recomposed, metaphor for the impossibility of being.
