  • About the artwork

    Artwork sold in perfect condition

Arbol Familiar is from a series of prints that explores an idea of manipulated nature – in this case tree grafting, trees that are grown from different rootstocks.

Robin’s research led her to the work of Axel Anderson, a Swedish American who settled in Scott’s Valley, CA and grew the well-known "Circus Trees” in his backyard in the mid-twentieth century. The grafted trees serve as a metaphor for merging different rootstocks to form a new union – a partnership or a family.
