Description
Cast Iron Monogrammed. Edition: 12 copies.
Clemens Hutter develops his own techniques for working with his preferred material, iron. For example, he explores the artistic possibilities of freeze-blasting hollow bodies. In this process, water is frozen inside a sealed iron body, causing the body to burst open and deform. This creates delicate, elegant curves and expressive breakages that ultimately determine the form, as seen in the present sculpture. The rhythm and open angles of the cuboids, welded on one side, are determined by their curvature.
Clemens Hutter loves his material. He impressively plays with the dormant properties of iron and transforms them into an aesthetic appearance.
