Description
Résonnance II is a bronze sculpture by contemporary French artist Romain Langlois, composed of two distinct parts. The inside of the sculpture is in polished bronze while the outside is in trompe-l'oeil bronze in the shape of a block.
The sculpture represents two fragments of rock facing each other. The artist distorts this banal element by giving it a liquid and dynamic appearance at its center, evoking the resonance of water movement.
The artist imitates the appearance of a rock in a very realistic way. Textures are obtained through the molding process, and colors through various patinas. The interior is polished to give the bronze a golden hue and reflections of light.

Presentation
Born in 1977, Romain Langlois moved from design and architecture towards material via sculpture. To avoid just stammering, he began a titanic work of technical documentation, went through the Arts Déco in Strasbourg, met masters and undertook initial work by shaping a large number of pieces in earth.
Little by little, he became familiar with all the materials, their possibilities and their appearance. Having become an expert in production techniques, he moved from figurative and narrative sculpture via human representation towards working with the material for its own sake, using even wood and rocks to become a master of hybridization. But above all he uses the raw material of the sculpture (bronze) to transform it through the effect of patina and volume into wood, stone, liquid gold.
