Description
This sculpture represents the head of a hare, captured in a moment of intense vigilance. Crafted in patinated bronze, it reveals a rich texture and meticulous details that capture the very essence of the animal. The ears, tapered and erect, suggest constant alertness, while the expression of the eyes lends a striking depth to the work. The artist has mastered the interplay between light and shadow, accentuating the hare's vitality and energy. The artist demonstrates an exceptional talent for transforming a classic subject into a unique, contemporary interpretation, immediately captivating the viewer with an apparent simplicity masking a subtle complexity. A must-have for lovers of wildlife art and modern sculpture.
Presentation
Isabelle Carabantes was born in 1965 in Paris.
She learns sculpture in different workshops and studies modeling from a live model, working on volumes in space, axes and planes, at the Ateliers des Beaux Arts de Paris in Philippe Jourdain's workshop.
The artist, mainly focused on the animal world, does not choose to work as a naturalist. After having previously studied the anatomy and social life of her subjects, she deviates from it for a spontaneous realization. It is a question of capturing an emotion, of stealing a moment of life with all the strength and the wild beauty of her subjects. Her modeling vibrates with an energy both powerful and delicate, that of a wild and threatened allegorical world: ours.
