Description
This bronze animal sculpture, both powerful and refined, follows in the footsteps of the great 20th-century masters. It evokes the sensitivity of Rembrandt Bugatti, in his instinctive capture of the living, and the elegant sobriety of François Pompon, who transfigures the animal into a symbol of purity. Between tension and calm, this piece embodies life in its most essential form—frozen in bronze, yet charged with inner movement.
Presentation
Isabelle Carabantes was born in 1965 in Paris.
She learns sculpture in different workshops and studies modeling from a live model, working on volumes in space, axes and planes, at the Ateliers des Beaux Arts de Paris in Philippe Jourdain's workshop.
The artist, mainly focused on the animal world, does not choose to work as a naturalist. After having previously studied the anatomy and social life of her subjects, she deviates from it for a spontaneous realization. It is a question of capturing an emotion, of stealing a moment of life with all the strength and the wild beauty of her subjects. Her modeling vibrates with an energy both powerful and delicate, that of a wild and threatened allegorical world: ours.
