Description
This captivating metal sculpture elegantly depicts the streamlined silhouette of a bird. Resting on a smooth base reminiscent of a body of water, the bird appears poised to take flight, capturing a moment of grace and latent movement. The fine, minimalist lines accentuate the lightness and elegance of the form. The artist has masterfully used subtle contours to suggest dynamism while maintaining a refined simplicity. This work exemplifies the perfect blend of abstraction and representation, awakening the imagination while providing a clear artistic representation. The shine of the metal reflects light, adding an extra dimension and transforming the work depending on the viewing angle. This piece is distinguished by its ability to convey both movement and tranquility, seducing the viewer with its intricate simplicity and impeccable execution.
Presentation
Marcel Timmers is a Dutch sculptor and designer, born in 1971, known for his refined works in stainless steel, bronze, and Corten steel. A former engineer specialized in the development of medical instruments, he has redirected his technical expertise towards art, crafting sculptures with a minimalist aesthetic and exceptional finish.
A self-taught artist, Timmers has developed a visual language focused on form, light, and material, using advanced techniques such as bending, welding, laser cutting, and 3D modeling. His elegant, timeless sculptures draw inspiration from nature, architecture, and explore themes such as serenity, balance, unity, and companionship.
Since 2005, Marcel Timmers has exhibited widely across Europe, with regular solo and group exhibitions in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Germany. He is represented by several leading contemporary art galleries and his works are showcased in sculpture parks, outdoor art gardens, and cultural venues. Among his most iconic series are Seagulls, Wind, Tern, and United, all expressing his pursuit of visual harmony and structural simplicity.
His creations appeal to private collectors, architects, and landscape designers, with artworks designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Marcel Timmers stands out in the European contemporary art scene for his ability to merge the precision of engineering with the poetry of sculpture.
