Discovery 2018-3, 2018

Kug Kyung Oh

Edition: 2 of 6

"Discovery 2018-3" by Kug Kyung Oh is a profound meditation on form, material, and the passage of time. The sculpture presents an elongated figure with a textured, almost eroded surface, evoking both fragility and endurance. Through an intricate interplay of volume and emptiness, the artist invites contemplation on presence, impermanence, and the silent narratives carried by the human form.

• Masterful Textural Contrast – The organic, vertical striations in the bronze surface resemble a fusion of natural erosion and sculptural refinement, offering a tactile depth that engages both sight and touch.

• Limited Edition – With only six editions, this sculpture remains an exclusive part of Kug Kyung Oh's evolving exploration of abstraction.

• Emotional & Conceptual Depth – The elongated proportions and restrained gesture suggest both movement and stillness, capturing an introspective, almost ephemeral presence.

Kug Kyung Oh's work is widely recognized for its ability to distill human experience into minimalist yet deeply expressive forms. His sculptures reflect a timeless quality, referencing both ancient artistic traditions and contemporary abstraction. Discovery 2018-3 embodies a sense of introspection, making it a compelling piece for collectors drawn to art that speaks through material and form rather than explicit representation.

"Discovery 2018-3" stands as a quiet yet powerful dialogue between material and meaning, offering an evocative presence in any collection.
