Description
This captivating wooden sculpture illustrates a vibrant burst of geometric shapes and bold colors. Rising from a black circular base, the work juxtaposes rectangles, squares, and triangles in a harmonious dance. Blue, red, and purple dominate, highlighted by touches of yellow and green, creating a striking contrast. Each segment is impeccably balanced, forming a bold verticality. The colorful horizontal bands provide a dynamic visual rhythm, evoking a sense of modernity. The interplay of two- and three-dimensional elements draws the eye, guiding the viewer to discover each unique angle. This piece embodies contemporary artistic innovation, elegantly fusing simplicity and complexity. The sculptural perspective of this work offers a visual experience that transcends static form, capturing movement through stillness, while inspiring reflection and awe.
Presentation
Thierry Corpet - French artist born in 1965, lives and works in Corsica
At the crossroads of visual arts and music, Thierry Corpet draws inspiration from William Burroughs' "cut-up" technique to create hybrid works, where superimpositions and geometric forms translate the emotions arising from listening. Without claiming synesthesia, he seeks to capture the ephemeral and give tangible form to what is usually perceived by the ear.
Each canvas, each sculpture becomes his visual score — an invitation to see his perception of music, to feel the forms and to listen with the eyes.
His work is regularly exhibited in France and internationally. In particular, it was presented at the "Comparaisons 2026" exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris, in the Geometric Abstraction group.
