Emmanuel Chikumbirike

Emmanuel Chikumbirike, a world-renowned artist specializing in figurative portraits, presents this depiction of a young woman. The stone used is serpentine Fruitstone, which is very hard and veined. This captivating stone bust embodies a human figure with meticulous details and expressive features. The polished texture of the face contrasts elegantly with the subtle roughness of the neck and shoulders, highlighting the craftsman's expertise. The intricately sculpted hair adds a striking degree of realism. The bust's slightly inclined posture conveys a sense of serenity and introspection. The delicately incised eyes seem to contemplate infinity, inviting the viewer to share a moment of reflection. The natural color of the stone varies from brown to gray-green, creating a rich and nuanced visual effect that intriguingly captures the light. This masterpiece, with its balance between simplicity and complexity, evokes a respectful homage to artisanal traditions while incorporating a contemporary aesthetic.
