Description
This intriguing work features a fantastical creature beneath a glass bell jar, combining nature and imagination. The figure, covered in green fur, seems to merge with its surroundings, symbolizing a symbiosis between the natural and the supernatural. Its elongated body and long limbs evoke a strange elegance, while its head is adorned with flowers and butterflies, adding a touch of poetry. At its feet, a miniature scene composed of natural elements such as a small tree enriches the composition with subtle details. The lighting beneath the bell jar creates a striking contrast against the dark background, accentuating the vivid colors and delicate textures. This piece captivates with its unique approach, blending sculpture, installation, and natural art, prompting reflection on our connection with the living world.
Presentation
She finds out about the new form of publishing, the romantic books adorned with grotesque and fantastical drawings from such rare illustrators as Johannot and Nanteuil. It’s in the basements, the attics, the antiques markets where she collects the left aside, broken or strange toys, the dried flowers or objects from the past that will offer her the best material for her visual playlet.
She builds, inside of bulged glass frames, poetically strange pieces.A strange familar, map of a forgoten journey, who puts the eye in the middle of a fantasy game. Frames where unsettled powers are at work. Frames where fragments, litter, broken pieces do question the splitting of our thought, of our memory. Frames where the sublime and the grotesque meet up in all the spaces left open to imagination.
Lucie de Syracuse models and moulds her creations in Bordeaux.
